Following 14 years in practice as a property lawyer, I commenced as a legal academic in 2004. I am presently a legal academic at Griffith Law School. I hold a PhD from Melbourne University.

My principal academic interests lie in property law and legal education. My research and teaching reflect my interests also in social justice, including women’s equality, justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and environmental justice. I maintain my links with the profession through serving on the Equity and Diversity committee of the Queensland Law Society, and after serving on the management committee of the EDO (NQ), I joined the board of the newly national EDO Ltd.

My home is in the tropics – although I commute to South East Queensland for my work. Living in a regional city affords insights into the concept of difference from the major metropolitan centres, particularly the south east. I am therefore interested in understanding the role of place in education and more broadly in the way society works.

This site is the current home for my blogging. I blogged on Curl from 2011 until August 2015, and you can continue to visit that site to read my past work. Curl is also catalogued in the National Library of Australia Pandora Archive.  I post here on the same themes – property law, women and law, and contemporary legal issues, as well as legal education – but in an improved format. This site also allows me to share other aspects of my writing and my work.
